The left mouse button is used to change to directories, execute COM, EXE, BAT or BTM files, and
unarchive archive files (ARJ, ZIP, LZH etc).
The middle mouse button (or both left and right or holding down CTRL or SHIFT and then pressing
any button) is used to mark files and directories. See below for operations on marked files.
The right mouse button is used to execute the program that is associated with the extension of the
file. You can associate an extension with a program from under the 'Configure RFM'-button.
Holding down the ALT-key while pressing the left button on an executable file or on a line in the
'Util'-window causes RFM to wait for a button press before re-entering RFM.

■Tree
Here the directory structure is shown as a tree. You can change to a directory
by clicking on the directory name. Clicking on 'Cancel' or pressing ESC aborts
the 'Tree'-operation. When you create or rename or delete a directory inside RFM,
RFM updates the 'Tree'-information. If you create, rename, or delete a directory
from DOS however, or if you run a program that creates a directory, RFM's 'Tree'-
information is not correct anymore. The 'ReRead Tree'-button therefore re-scans
your drive so that this information is correct again.
■Copy
You are now in 'dir_only'-mode which means that only
directories are shown. You can move to the drive and
directory that you want as destination for the Copy/
Move operation.
You can press 'F' to view the Full current directory.
This is handy if you want to know whether a certain
file is in the current directory.
You can press ESC or click on 'Quit' to abort the
Copy/Move operation.
Once you have selected the destination drive and
directory, clicking on the 'Go'-button results in
copying/moving all marked files to the destination.
■Attr
This option allows you to change the
attributes of all marked files.
If you click on an attribute the word
behind it will change from 'ignore'
to 'on' to 'off' to 'ignore'.
'ignore' leaves the attribute as is,
'on' turns it on, 'off' turns it off.
Click on 'Ok' to set the attributes.
■Disp
'File Mask' opens a window where you can enter a mask for files to be displayed.
You can use wildcards '?' and '*' here.
'Executables' shows all executable files (i.e. files with extension COM, EXE or BAT.
If 4DOS is your command processor, files with extension BTM will be shown as well).
The SETTINGS-part of the window shows the settings as they are currently present.
Clicking on a setting toggles this setting.
■Zip Arch
Click on the extension of the archiver that you
want to use. A window will pop up asking you for
the name of the archive to be created. You need
not specify the extension. You can also enter an
entire pathname, e.g C:\ARCHDIR\RFM.ARJ.
■Mark
'All' toggles the marked-status of all files and directories, so
marked files will be unmarked, unmarked files will be marked.
Pressing key 'A' has the same effect as clicking on this option.
'None' unmarkes all files and directories. Pressing key 'N' has the
same effect as clicking on this option.
'User specified' opens a window in which you can type a file mask
for the files you want to mark. Wildcards '?' and '*' are allowed.
'Write Marks to File' writes the names of all files and directories
to the file 'MARKED.RFM' in the current directory. Pressing key 'W'
has the same effect as clicking on this option.
■Unarc
You are now in 'dir_only'-mode which means that only direc-
tories are shown. You can move to the drive and directory
that you want as destination for the Unarchive operation.
You can press 'F' to view the Full current directory. This
is handy if you want to know whether a certain file is in
the current directory. You can press ESC or click on 'Quit'
to abort the Unarchive operation.
Once you have selected the destination drive and directory,
clicking on the 'Go'-button results in extracting the archive
file(s) to the destination.
Pressing 'M' results in creating-and immediately changing to-
a directory with the same name as the archive file (without
extension). This is a fast way to extract to a new directory.

■Fill
Fill copies all marked files to drive A: or B:, hereby
leaving as little free space on those disks as possible.
It, so to say, fills your disks to the max. If you check
the option 'Keep Marks after Fill' then all marked files
will remain marked after the 'Fill'-operation. You can
then perform another operation on these files (e.g. delete
them if you wanted these files moved instead of copied).
The disks in A: or B: need not be empty, RFM checks their
free space. Existing files will be asked to overwrite.
■Get
Find finds a file across all your drives and optionally copies
it to the current directory. Default all drives, except A: and
B:, are searched. You can specify which drives to search by
typing them in the window. For instance, typing 'ace rfm.com'
searches for file RFM.COM on drives A:, C:, and E:.
NOTE : Do not type spaces between the drive letters.
Wildcards in the filename are allowed.
When a file is found you can :
'Get it', i.e. copy it to the current directory,
'Get All', i.e. copy all files that match the specification,
'Find Next' file,
'Go To' the directory the file is in,
or 'Quit' the Find-operation.
===>The current directory is not included in the search<===
